Viva El Burrito

Yummy food in generous portions at a good price. The owners/staff are all lovely and helpful. I highly recommend visiting.

Popped down to Leicester for some Christmas shopping and fancied tacos. Found this little gem! Will definitely be back when I'm in the area! Such a friendly husband and wife team, Viva El Burrito is indeed like subway but better! The chicken is crammed packed with flavour, so delicious! The beef, oh my goodness, so incredibly tender. The beef was BBQ flavour and the sweet and savoury balance was perfect! Definitely not too sweet but definitely sweet and smoky enough to be considered as BBQ. (I find a lot of BBQ flavours are basically just sweet sweet sweet and no flavour, not Viva El Burrito though!). The tacos and large burrito hit the spot. Saved some room for churros filled with dulche leche, amazing! Fresh, soft and fluffy, well filled, well seasoned with cinnamon sugar (on both sides, not just one!). Bless the couple even gave us an extra so me and my partner wouldn't fight over the last (5th) one! LOL! The couple knew everyone who came in and anyone new, they quickly became friends with on a first name basis. Lovely establishment, can't wait to go back. P.S. I only managed to take a few photos as I got distracted by all the tasty food!! Viva El Burrito also have seating for outside when it's lovely and warm.

Nice little spot on Belvoir street, I tried their burrito which was very flavourful and the mango and Brie empanadas they were so Yum . The owners were very friendly.

The food was really delicious, and the lady working there was very friendly and welcoming.

The staff are absolutely amazing, so sweet and kind. The food is perfect and extremely reasonably priced, definitely worth it. I had high expectations and they passed those expectations before we'd even sat down to eat! If you want an experience you won't forget, this is the place to go. Will definitely be going here again for the rice bowl with pulled beef. The beef was so juicy and melted in my mouth so I definitely recommend getting the pulled beef as your meat. They also had a variety of options for those who are vegan/vegetarian and even gluten free! Great accomodation, amazing atmosphere and an unforgettable evening. Thankyou to those who served us and made us feel like family.

Delicious food, lovely owners, nice atmosphere and great prices. The beef quesadilla is my favourite, the meat is super tender and packed with flavour. Truly food made with love and passion. The only downside is that food is super addictive and we will have to visit often now!

First visit here and we loved it. We tried the large burrito and quesadilla. Both are very filling. You can even sample the spice level of the salsa first to decide which one tickles your taste buds best. The guacamole comes at no extra cost. The refried mashed pinto beans and medium spice salsa were my favourite of the lot. The restaurant has been at this location for 8 years and if it were where "Tortilla" the restaurant is , I believe they would've driven Tortilla out of business. The food is that good The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Maybe we went on a rainy winter evening in December is what's influencing my 4* for the atmosphere. But don't let that stop you from giving this place a try. The owners are friendly and will engage in good conversations with you if you're willing. This saves it from the corporate and sterile feeling that Tortilla has. Will definitely come again and try the Tortilla and loaded fries next time.

I've been coming here from the 2nd day Viva El Burrito opened several years ago now and it remains one of my favourite food spots to eat at here in Leicester. Excellent, home cooked food. Great service and welcoming staff. Lovely little "Mom & Pop" family run business. I'll always eat here and always recommend
